FAQs

Have a question that's not on this list? Contact us!

Q: Why do I need to have my trash bins cleaned?

  • Our dirty bins harbor bacteria, invite pests, and sure can stink up your garage or patio. Most of us have simply tolerated stinky, dirty, trash bins, because we haven't had a good option for cleaning them. Say hello to your good cleaning option! Our cleaning process eliminates the odors, the bacteria, and the pests in an eco-friendly, hassle-free way.

Q: Why can't I clean my bins myself?

  • You can! But we wouldn't recommend it. Let's face it—This isn't the most fun chore on your list. Not only is it difficult to reach the nooks and crannies at the bottom of your trash bin without hurting yourself, you're likely cleaning with cold water, which is not effective against the bacteria that is likely living in your bins, like salmonella, E. Coli, and listeria. Additionally, the water and trash particles you're rinsing from the bins is going down your local sewer drain and out to freshwater streams—not to a water treatment plant where it can be properly handled.

Q: What areas do you serve?

  • We are currently serving Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, DuPont, Yelm and Rainier. Please check out our Service Area to see if we are working your neighborhood. As we expand, other areas will be identified. If we don’t currently serve your area, please like us on Facebook and send us an email to tell us where you live. We will contact you when we add that area.

Q: How often do you recommend my trash bins be cleaned?

  • That may depend on where you store your bins. In your garage? Close to where you or the kids hang out? We typically recommend the quarterly service to ensure your cans are cleaned, sanitized, and smelling great.

Q: What day is my cleaning?

  • We visit your neighborhood every four weeks. When you sign up we will let you know when your first scheduled cleaning is. You will also receive a text or email (your choice) the day before your scheduled cleaning to remind you to leave your bins out after your trash has been picked up.

Q: Can I rotate my bins for cleanings?

  • We do not allow a rotation of bins. The bins you've requested are notated in your profile. If you would like to add a one time for your 3rd bin let us know.

Q: Are your methods really environmentally friendly?

  • YES! This is why Lacey Bin Wash was started! We use a customized truck specifically designed to contain the dirty water on-board. All the dirty water is then transported to a treatment site in Olympia. All products used are eco-friendly and biodegradable.

Q: Do you use hazardous chemicals?

  • No! We use an environmentally friendly, biodegradable, odor neutralizer that effectively controls odors. On occasion (for first time bin cleanings), we may also use a biodegradable degreaser.
